Replace Your Own Magnets
Watch the video above – OR – follow these simple steps. Scroll to the bottom for info on how to have us fix them for you.
1. Protect your frames.
Cover your frames with aluminum foil, plastic wrap, or wax paper to keep any glue from getting on them.
2. Position the magnet.
If you still have the old magnet, let it stick to your glasses through the protective layer—this helps you get perfect placement and proper magnet polarity. While you’ve got it in position make sure it’s squared up properly.
Don’t have the magnet? We can help! If it’s been less than 30 days we’ll send you magnets at no charge. More than 30 days and you just pay the postage. Order Here.
3. Apply glue.
Use one small drop of super glue (we like Gorilla Glue Gel) on the magnet. Just one drop—no need to flood it!
4. Press in place.
Position the magnet correctly and hold it firmly for 1–2 minutes. We like to use a second magnet on top of the topper to apply even pressure while the glue sets.
5. Let it rest.
After a couple of minutes, gently remove the topper and toss the protective layer. Let the glue finish setting for at least an hour. This is where a second (larger) magnet comes in super handy. Be patient.
